They say if you enjoy what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. I believe that's only half true, because while I do enjoy my work...that doesn't mean I'm not still working.

Out of place or no, we could use the variety in my opinion. I imagine both humans and monsters will be flocking from all over to get a taste ofthis Italy they've heard so much about.

i think all work is work, no matter how much you enjoy it. and then where would you draw the line? what would you do with your free time if your hobbies are also your job?

Well, you certainly could use all of that extra time to hone your craft! That's what I would be doing, at least. But I understand I'm also probably not the best example in that regard...

you have a point. but really, you don't need to worry about me overextending myself, i really will be taking a back seat here... the building came with a man who says he can cook. or rather, something about mana giving him the ability to do so? he can cook, that much is true, so at least he won't be serving up disappointing spaghetti. the whole thing is kind of bizarre, if i'm being honest.

Do you have any sort of magic back where you are from? Because I imagine if you don't, all of this has to be very difficult to believe on a good day.

okay, well. it didn't come with the man as such. he was already here, but he showed up and insisted that he was supposed to be there. i don't think he would have left, and even if we made him leave he probably would have come back anyway.

[ It actually feels a lot like an odd responsibility in a way, he's just an ordinary human man who had nothing to do with any of this, and now he's wandering around with the brain of a Nonna or something. ]

magic? uh, sorta... i guess. you could call it that, sure.

Magic, otherworldy abilities, and so on...sometimes I wonder if it all isn't the same and we just happen to have different names for it.

he can cook, yes. whether he could before i can't say, but he certainly seems to enjoy it... i haven't gotten to see him working from up close for that long, obviously. a handful of days at best, but it appears that he can actually be rather showy.

i think it would be fair to put a lot of things under the umbrella of "magic." i wouldn't necessarily have considered it magic, the thing that i know people can do back where i'm from, but i can understand why it might sound like that to people who aren't familiar with it.

Oh, now you just have me interested! Even more reason for me to want to stop by, to get to see the famous Rigatoni at work.

It's interesting for me to learn about what things were like back home for others. I mean, I know my home isn't at all conventional...so far, Vampire and I are the only cookies that I know of here, and no one else seems to consider living on a world made of dough to be at all that normal. So for you, what most would consider "magic" is just...something you've always had. Something you've always just been used to being a constant in your world, I assume.

[ Of course, Stands existed even before Abbacchio was aware of them and long before he assumes. Their nature just means that unless you have one, you will be unaware of them. ]

constant for some people. i've heard that there are individuals who always had their abilities, but i can't say i've met anyone who had them throughout most of their life. for most, they're something gained later in life rather than simply existing the whole time, and the means for obtaining such abilities are... unpleasant.

[ More than anything, he misses the presence of his own Stand rather than their practical uses. ]

I see...that is unfortunate, I'm sorry to hear that...I hope it wasn't too difficult for you.

Weilding magic in my world isn't an inherent thing every cookie is capable of doing from the start either, but it's something that can be learned through practice, like anything. I was actually a healer myself; I used to be able to mix drinks into tonics that could mend a cookie's cracks and restore their energy. Not quite possible here I'm afraid, but at least the skill hasn't left me.

a healer, huh? what you're describing sounds a lot like some kind of alchemy or early medicine. i knew healers, too. though their abilities worked a bit differently from yours from what i know about them.

i... used to be able to see events that had happened in the past. probably not as exciting as being able to see the future.

[Alchemy, huh? That actually makes Sparkling laugh a little to himself.]

There is actually a cookie I know who we call Alchemist Cookie. I promise you I'm not making that up; she spends much of her days studying that very thing. Though, I think she's mostly interested in the barrier between science and magic in our world. It's all a bit...over my head though, so I choose to just leave it to those who are truly passionate about it.

[And he takes advantage of the knowledge they've already gained to make his fun healy juice.]

Mm, in a way I suppose...though, being able to see events of the past has to have other uses. I know I would love to know more about what came before.
