The bar's exterior is modeled after the Barrel Inn, with a few alterations. While the base structure is the same, the bar lacks the giant mug on the outside, instead being replaced by a similarly shaped extension with a slanted roof. This part actually acts as a small stopgap for the staircase that leads up to the second story where Sparkling lives just above the ground floor. The mug signs are replaced with signage that depicts the logo for the bar. The windows remain unchanged, though the middle window on the second story is typically left closed unless it's nighttime. The front door is not shaped like a mug and also isn't the western style it is here, it's just a normal door. Otherwise, the steps leading up to the side entrance are still a fixture as well. While everything outwardly is very much made of wood, stone, and similar materials...the fact does still remain that a lot of things look eerily similar to familiar candy and the like if you squint. Which means, yes, the slats of the roof do kinda look like kit-kat bars, and the wood paneling does kindof look like roll cake if you squint. That chimney? Definitely looks a bit like cake.

If a themed bar isn't for you, then unfortunately the interior isn't going to get much better. The ground floor has two major sections: the seating area (which is not laid out exactly like this to the letter, this is just to give a visual of the items and furniture) and Sparkling's Bar.

Starting with the main floor, there are tables set throughout that are comfortably spaced apart, each with a dark wooden finish that makes them look an awful lot like big dark chocolate squares. The seats (which I'm going to say DO have backs for comfort's sake) have cushions shaped like pretzels, it's very adorable. Separate from this are two tables set up with cheesecake chess boards with croissant shaped couches to lounge in as you play. Off to the far end of the room sits a red recliner with a lamp set up next to it, and a shelf for keeping books for patrons to come by and read. These books aren't meant to leave the bar, but are free for perusal for all guests as long as they'd like. On the other side of the bar on a small raised stage sits a grand piano which, like most everything else, sports a dark chocolate brown finish. Along with this is a slightly beat-up karaoke machine that was recovered from the technical shower in March and repaired enough for use. Sometimes it does like to act up and takes a few good whacks to get going again, but if you're willing to put up with that it should serve you well in your drunken singing contests. There's also an arcade machine nearby from the same shower that probably plays some equivalent of tetris because I like tetris. Aside from all of this situated at the center back of the space is an open fireplace set into the wall, though it's only lit during the winter months. The bar also has a few potted plants dotted around the floor, each with a planter that looks...a lot like a cube of cheese, actually.

Sparkling's actual bar is the main star of the building as it sits front and center as the first thing you see when you walk in, designed to wrap around on both sides (contrary to what the image would have you believe) so it can seat patrons on both the front, left, and right side of the bar. Like the tables, the bar resembles slabs of dark chocolate, and the barstools share the same pretzel cushions as the tables (though these don't have backs to them, sorry). The cabinet behind the counter holds the various liquor and juice Sparkling uses to prepare his cocktails both on the shelves and in the cupboards below. The cabinet is set back into the wall slightly compared to the visual to make it easier for him to bartend in his new form. It's also much wider and covers a good portion of the wall, giving him room to move as needed. It's always decorated with lavish gold ribbons. Above the bar special for this building, there's a bar that stretches across the length of the wall near the ceiling. Sparkling didn't know what it was for at the time, but in the future would learn that it's to allow him to be able to bartend while hanging upside down. There's a door just to the left behind the bar that leads to an extra room that, while seemingly lacking a purpose, can be transformed into a kitchen/broom closet/whatever Sparkling decides to use it for.

Facing the right side of the bar (from the bartender's perspective), taking an immediate right brings you to unisex bathrooms. An immmediate left leads to the staircase that takes you up to where Sparkling lives above the bar. The staircase takes a right from where it starts on the left side of the room, hugging the inset part of the wall where the stairs + bathroom combo basically live with the bar taking up the other half (the fireplace is on the wall adjacent to this nearest to the front door, while the stage is on the immediate other side. I hope this is making sense so far, I'm not an architect). The staircase takes you up to a small hallway with some nice paintings and a little rug, probably a table against the wall with another plant for decoration, with the door to Sparkling's home at the far end.

WELCOME....to Sparkling's apartment!

Due to the larger size of the building his bar is in, Sparkling has access to a lot more living space than he did in his apartment at the 38 complex, basically the entire expanse of the restaurant worth. It's no mansion or anything, but it does allow for a few extra amenities he wasn't able to have before. Immediately visible from the door is the living room, where Sparkling has a couch and a few recliners for sitting. His place probably has whatever ryslig's equivalent for a TV here would be (assuming it wouldn't have to have come from the tech shower, he probably just got it repaired from some shop or the like later on), but it's probably not often he even has time to sit and watch anything since he's working all the time. He does keep a radio that he will listen to for news in town a lot more frequently. His kitchen is the kind that is connected to the den so it can be seen from both areas with an island that stretches out from the wall separating the two. There are all of the basic appliances one might need, though the most important thing is the fridge he has where he keeps basically all of his food. These days, it's just all fruit and stored blood, as well as a few types of drinks. There are two windows in this section of the apartment, the window on the far right of the second floor as well as the one with the wooden doors. This window, when not shut as it is during the day, is used primarily as an easy exit for flying when he doesn't want to leave through the front door.

His bedroom is down a short hallway to the left of the second floor, which also contains the last remaining window from the front of the building. All of the windows on the entire structure have blackout shades that can be pulled down, but the window in his bedroom keeps this blind closed almost permanently since he sleeps there. [#justvampirethings] On the left wall there is a set of double doors that leads out to the balcony of the building which acts as yet another point for exit and entry for a monster who flies primarily, but also it's just a nice place to sit at night.

The bedroom itself is honestly probably more comfortable somehow than the den (which is already quite comfortable since he likes to be able to entertain guests well), probably because he spends most of his time here when he isn't working (because he's fuckin sleeping because bodies need sleep to function, tragically). There's a bed obviously, but that will see less and less use as changes progress and he becomes more accustomed to sleeping upside down as bats tend to do. With the far corner of the bedroom ceiling also being vaulted, it means that he's able to set up a sort of nesting area for sleeping that's modeled after the leaf tents created by honduran white bats, the bat Sparkling is based on and will derive behavior from. His bedroom has the same types of wall bars near the ceiling that the bar has downstairs, meaning he can hang from the bar while pinning up blankets carefully to mimic the shape of the leaf-nest he'd create otherwise. The blankets are easier to change/clean and can be swapped out depending on how hot or cold it is as necessary. Beneath where he hangs is a small mound of cushions and more blankets to potentially cushion his fall should he ever slide off in his sleep, while also just serving as a nice place for general cuddling and relaxing. Since Sparkling also won't be able to handle sunlight anymore, his bedroom will be decked out with as many little string lightss as he can get his claws on for soft ambiance without disturbing his otherwise need for darkness.

The last section of Sparkling's bar typically goes unseen, as there is a door just beneath the staircase that leads directly into the basement cellar. Down here, Sparkling keeps things nice and cool for the purpose of keeping all manner of liquor stored. He doesn't keep just liquor though...assuming you have the permission to enter, often times you may find casks set further into the back, unassuming on the surface yet containing all various manner of liquids that may be more appealing to monster kind. Blood is a typical fare, though Sparkling usually prefers to keep what he's going to be eating soon in the fridge. After a while, some of these may contain some of Sparkling's more experimental concoctions...
